As you may know, Allie and I have decided to leave the wonderful scenery, sociability and stability of living in Santa Barbara and are embarking on an adventure. Wonder awaits as our lives are about to be turned upside down! Wish us luck.
The reason why we have decided to leave is because we want to see if we want to do missionary work long term. With that being said, we will be traveling to Cambodia in September and working with an organization that specializes in the prevention and recovery of men and women susceptible to human trafficking. We are very excited to serve in a place familiar to Allie and where we can use our skills to love on people going through a time of transition. Allie will be teaching the women how to do hair so they can have a skill that helps them to get a job and live a life outside of ‘the Trade.’ Likewise, I will be working with men who are learning math, Khmer, English and job training; like business and IT. We look forward to showing God’s love to those in need and working alongside locals who are already bettering their community in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
We will be flying over there in September, but since we are moving and quitting our jobs, we wanted to dedicate some time to adventure and spending time with family. With that said, we plan to road trip this summer, seeing friends and a lot of America along the way.
In short, that is why I am starting this blog. I want to give everyone some insight into the work that we are doing and the places we will be going. I hope you enjoy some of the moments we are able to capture. If you have any questions or want to see us, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blessings and Love!
